Do you know, they teach history via .pdf files now?
Do you know how easy it is to change a .pdf file?

a name, date, location, action... all changed in a few clicks.
A BOOK has academics, editors, designers, production staff, all with eyes on the information... MUCH harder to change information in a BOOK.
I doubt the .pdf files covering this subject, will EVER bear any resemblance to the truth... 30 years from now.

Anything can be changed digitally! Coin, files, etc. And the Victor of the war or takeover sets the history.

Yes, We need to keep forms of records that cannot be changed so easily.
Yes, a truthful, non biased form of history should be kept, warts and all.
If digital money is so secure - then perhaps world history needs to be stored in the same way.
I am sure you know I am very ambivalent re digital money - something that needs both power and internet to access, so my suggestion is kind of a dig at that.
We need books, a thing that cannot be changed once it is printed. It is there in your hands until it is destroyed by time.
Perhaps we need to make 'paper' that is indestructible, that important records are printed on, the way the Egyptians carved their records in stone.
Of course, those were as you say, written by the winner, and, the person in power.
The second part of the true history record is, it is truth, not flattery, not parts hidden to make the winner look better, or justify evil acts.
A TRUE record of history must be unchangeable, and written in an unbiased way
