"Discipline is loving yourself, it is the part of us that works to take care of ourselves and get what we want without letting ourselves be carried away by immediate impulses or by what we feel like.

Sabotaging thoughts and excuses always cling to what we feel like and try to convince the rational mind by telling it things like "I never do what I want," but we must not confuse what we feel like with what we want.

We must make an effort to be consistent and a shortcut is excuses and pretexts, which are subtle categories of lying. The border between (scheism) and mythomania is minimal. Small daily lies can make daily life apparently a little more bearable, but it is a deceptive path.

Because at the end of the road, the excuse is the width of the lie. Either you lie to yourself or you lie to another person or people.

Making excuses: the art of lying, procrastination and the trapped brain."
