Material donations needed immediately

We will continue to accept donations at Rumple, but only the items listed below, which change daily (sometimes even hourly). We are also listing specific requests from other locations to drop off donations.

We are blessed to have received so many donations. At this point, please look on social media for other places requesting specific items. Needs are changing rapidly, and we will continue to highlight new, urgent needs on this page.

Blowing Rock Cares/Rumple is collecting the following (please bring to the Fellowship Hall) through the week of October 20:
Mr. Heater Big Buddy Pro Series Propane Heater, 18000 BTU (see sample here on Amazon; you may find them at other retailers.)

AA and D batteries for the heaters
We are also looking for 20 lb propane tanks to accompany the heaters. If you are able to buy and store at home until we have the heaters, please contact Blowing Rock Cares/Kathryn Scott to help us keep a count of how many propane tanks we have and how many more we may need to purchase.

Hospitality House is updating its Facebook page as the quickest way to get its ever-changing needs list out to the public. Here is a link to their Facebook page. You can scroll down and see their needs and volunteer opportunities. Their greatest need is monetary donations at this time. Some of their storage facilities and structures have sustained damage that will need repairs, and the additional newly homeless population is straining their resources. Please only bring material donations to them if you have checked their most recent Facebook post of needs.

Foscoe Grandfather Community Center has created an Amazon wishlist of supplies. Please take a look at their list and order as you are able. Please choose the “Gift registry address” at checkout if you would like your donations to ship directly to the community center.

In Avery County, as of 10/14, the new official drop-off location for supplies for Avery Co is a Lenoir warehouse. 1439 Blowing Rock Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645 (hours 11 am - 4 pm). This is not a location for people in need to pick up donations.

Temporary housing

Temporary housing is needed for ASU faculty and staff. Please contact the church office or reach out to Emergency Housing coordinator Becky Gosky (goskyraappstate.edu), Pilar Fotta (fottapaappstate.edu), or relocationappstate.edu if you have temporary housing available.
