It's not meant to make you feel good. God is Holy and therefore we must be cleansed of our sin. Do not be deceived, you MUST be born again...
2 Timothy 4:1-4
King James Version
4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

This is rampant today in churches. Tickle the ears, ignore the truth of scripture to avoid offending anyone, combine covenants with one foot in law ( Jesus fullfilled the law) and one foot in grace. Ignore historical accuracy and the audience which is being addressed for context. Twist the scriptures, and promote adherence to church doctrines and practices over the truth and freedom that results from the true gospel message. Pick individual biblical passages out of context to make a point unintended by the context.

Yes He fulfilled the eternal punishment but He did not remove the law. Yehoveh demands obedience to the law to go with that faith. Faith is no good without obedience. No we cannot follow the law to the letter but we can follow the law in the spirit of that law. Mat. 5: 17-20

I do believe Jesus came to fullfill the law and established the New Covenant of grace. The law was put in place to show the people they could not live by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in other words under law. The law pointed out the need for total forgiveness and a Savior. Remember when Jesus walked the earth he was a Jewish man under the law, so He taught under the law. But after His ascension He transformed Saul and renamed him Paul, so Paul, a Pharisees of Pharisees could teach the gentiles the New Covenant of grace. Paul was taught by the ascended Jesus. Gentiles were not required to be under the law of Moses, unless they decided to become Jews first. Today we, as Gentiles live under the New Covenant of Grace by which we enjoy the indwelling Spirit of God who guides us and gives us discernment. 😇

The covenant of grace as you call it began with adam and eve. It did not start with Yeshua.
