We used to have prevailing winds in Western Europe that came from the west... Thunderstorms and rain came from the ocean over England or via the North Sea. We have had mainly easterly winds for years now and the strange thing is that we get a lot of rain from the east ... for years. It comes from Poland, Ukraine and Russia. Bizarre!

But you know we live in the age of total weather manipulation? Here where I live we still have mostly westerly winds.
