We are referred to as members of the "flock" by religion. They are the Shepards, we need to be led. We chose our leaders poorly.
Have you ever heard the expression sacrificial lamb? It's a metaphor for sacrificing one of the FLOCK to get into heaven. Who's Heaven? Would our version of heaven involve blood sacrifice? I can tell you that it does not. The shedding of blood is not something the Gods favor. The Manna of the Gods is Joy my friends. And that is in short supply.
