This only became an rentable event space a few years ago when the city bought it. It's been a private home, a convent, and abandoned. My husband's seen some strange things there as a teen when it was vacant, since he grew up here. On Wikipedia it'll outright tell you that "satanist groups" used it when it was abandoned.
