Agree Royal... I was a latch key kid too that was NEVER inside until the street lights came on, then my A$$ had to be home.. we drank out of the hose, we were home right after school to do homework then outside playing.
Best time growing up... I'm glad we were born when we were..🙌💕

Saturday mornings we were usually parked in front of the t.v. watching cartoons.
Our generation's guilty pleasure.
We didn't have yet access to VHS tapes & DVDs of our favorite shows at our finger tips.

Our TV was a long console style with speakers that lit up to the sound, the "replace the Tube" kind that the corner store would carry, replacements and the tinfoil back then was for the antenna AND our heads...WE were the remotes for the 11 Channels we had and we didn't even have an answering machine until the 70's.. LOL LOL...Yes I'm that old..😩😜

I remember the national anthem playing when the final show for the evening ended. Our black and white console tv was a big and heavy piece of furniture. It had NBC, ABC, CBS and PBS, if you were lucky you could pick up a couple local stations on UHF. It took a couple of seconds for the tv tube to warm up. If you wanted to change the channel you had to turn the dial on the tv. How things have changed!
