Why is it that Easter doesn’t have a specific date like Christmas? 9 day difference to last year.

Because Constantine and the Catholic church paganized it. God's word, His calendar says the 14th day Nisan according to His Calendar. Which is April 22 this year

I am reading up on it right now and it seems like it’s based off of the fact the church set March 20 or 21st as the official date of the vernal equinox, which the famers almanac says varies each year, and Easter is supposed to be the first Sunday after the equinox.
Just makes it feel commercialized even more to me now.

Yes. We should actually be celebrating the feasts of Passover, unleavened Bread and Firstfruits Yeshuas death, burial and resurrection which begins April 22 this year, 14th of Nisan on God's Holy calendar
