British ex-prime minister opens a remarkable book: 'I was forced out by the Deep State'

She thought she could change the country by becoming prime minister. “I came to realize that [the prime minister] is not the one holding the reins. The reins are held by the Bank of England's Office of Budget Responsibility, but not by the Prime Minister. That's a huge problem," she said in conversation with Steve Bannon.

Truss went on to say that the governor of the British central bank cannot be fired, but the prime minister can. “That means the governor of the Bank of England has more power than the prime minister and in a democracy that is a problem.”

The former prime minister also said that the conservatives need a "bigger bazooka" to tackle the Deep State.
