I have an uncle, who passed, who was a shriner. I know nothing of this organization back then but knew it is wrong to take a secret oath. Which I told him and my relationship with him was never the same after I said that to him.

My uncle wasn't a shriner, but a freemason. He was in church every single Sunday and worshipped God wholeheartedly. The men below that generation in the family were not interested in joining.
