I guess if they brought all the old tractors out for the protests, they'd have got 3 miles, and then would've broken down.
Most farms these days have newish tractors.
It's necessary, due to the amount of work necessary to keep a farm going, to produce the largest tonnage per acre of produce possible in order to make the farm profitable.
Old tractors can't do the things newer ones can.
They're fine on a farm in Africa where they're just feeding their family and a few others in the village, but when producing for supermarkets or export, they wouldn't be any good these days.
They will be on a payment scheme, not an outright purchase, I'm sure.
