You could have ear pain from a large chunk of wax that gets stuck. Try an over-the-counter ear wax removal kit?! This could especially be true if you are not currently congested or having any sinus issues

Lay your head to one side and drizzle Hydrogen peroxide off a cotton ball into your ear. Move your jaw around to work it further into the ear then let it drain out.
