Today's Gospel: Matthew 5, 8-11
The Faith of the Centurion
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”
7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
10 “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
Do we think we deserve it when we get a positive result for hard work on a project? Deserve. What do we deserve?
Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. Matthew 8:8
Jesus could heal with a word. To come with an awareness of our dependence on God for everything and believe in the power of Jesus to heal.
I ask the Lord today for the grace to make me worthy to receive His visit in my heart every day.
