I was reading an article yesterday, talking about the lead up to the creation of Israel, and, it stated that, although the propaganda in England was that Russia was controlled by zionists, this view was created to spur the move to create Israel.
The reality was, that Russia did not hold zionists in high opinion, and their power and presence had been blown our of proportion to reality.
I assume the same device is being recycled here to smear Russia, and turn away support from them.
