đ¤JFK's PT 109 was cut in half at night
đ¤2 of his crew men were killed
đ¤It took Kennedy nearly 3 hours, swimming
around in the dark, to gather the survivors
onto what was left of their PT Boat
đHis Engineer, Pappy McMahon, who was
wearing a life jacket, was badly burned and
in severe pain. After the boat sank, they had
to swim to an island about 3 miles away.
Kennedy cut a strap on McMahons life
jacket, put it in his teeth, told McMahon to
lay on his back and towed him to the island.
đI believe he did the same for US...
