What does the universe want from me?
What am I supposed to do?
Is it to help those in need?

First of all I know and understand what you are saying "What do you want from me, God? How can I make a difference? What is my role in this spiritual war for the soul of the world?"
The only answer that I know to be true is that
We were made by God to Love God and to obey God.
We were made by God to love one another as we love ourselves.
We were made by God to be a light unto the nations, to be the beacon to show others the way.
God told us to knock and the door shall be opened to us and that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain.
Love, Obey, Be the light. Pray, have faith.
Try your best to do this every moment of every day and you will find your journey. Each of us has a different journey as scripture says:
Romans 12:4
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function.
