1933- Banking emergency Act, where government took over precious metals from the bank thus turning the once gold back dollar into a debt note

1945- United Nations Participation Act which gave the control of independent banks over to the Central Bank of London

Banking Act of 1862 & 1864
Created first debt-based paper money: new national banks could issue money based on US debt holdings (treasury bonds), phased out Greenback, dissolved state banks (ended the era of free banking), established a large network of national banks that would later serve as framework for Fed system.

Coinage Act of 1873 "Crime of the Century": Made it illegal to use silver coin as money (demonetized silver) forcing people on to paper money issued by the national banks. Kennedy attempted to reverse this with EO 01110.
