Years ago when Roku Tv first came out -I'm talking, way before Roku was integrated with the Tv set but was just a box you hooked up to your Tv - there was this classic cartoon channel. It had all these old Superman cartoons from the 193os and 40s. Very artfully done (i'm an artist). There was one particular episode entitled "Electric Earthquake". The storyline went that there was a mad scientist who had invented an electric device that could cause earthquakes and had impregnated this device in the ocean floor. Superman had to locate and disarm it. I believe it was just off of Manhatten, though not sure.
There were other episodes of similarly prophetic nature, such as an army of robots that could fly. They flew from the mad scientists's lair like airplanes or missiles, then reached a big city where they transformed into humanoid robots with arms and legs, and looted banks. They were each numbered and the size of giants

I believe tech has always been far more advanced than we know, and that some kind of occult technological Rennaisance started off around WWII. I'd say it kicked off in Germany, although a man from Croatia working in the US named Nikola Tesla claimed in his autobiography -published in 1919 - to have invented many things prior to that year, including fully developed, functioning wireless technology.
