It's a conflation that probably comes from the often prophesied 3 days of darkness mentioned by a lot of mystics as well as the Biblical 3 days which was never good. In my opinion Q did that intentionally.

Oh and the Mandela Effect is a real thing. It was the thing that woke many people up and I also think it was intentional.
