Here is the question of the day. Why did Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, Sonia Sotomayor, and Neil Gorsuch skip the State of the Union address?

It's similar to why not every cabinet member attends the SotU as well - if someting should happen to those in attendance, those who skipped can step into higher leadership positions and keep the branch running
Also, SC justices have the option to attend a SotU address; and not all have to attend.
