For me, the ideal society is a Constitutional Republic (eg. the USA) - in which people agree to live in accordance with a set of define principles (which is what a “constitution” is), and in which laws and decisions are made for the greater good (as opposed to a “democracy,” in which the mob majority’s choices are imposed whether or not those choices represent the greater good/benefit or even make sense).

In a Constitutional Republic, nobody’s freedom is usurped, but agreeing to live based on principles set out in a constitution means having to accept some liberties over absolute freedom. This is why it is so important for inalienable human rights to be articulated in the Constitution lest they be superceded by its principles.
