For those who may be wondering…..Trump is now the de facto ‘speaker of the house’ Kevin Mcarthy is on a very short leash. The half dozen key MAGA/Trump associates/representatives have McCarthy’s ‘word’ to follow their lead….He has to keep his word because they have the leverage through their votes to remove him in an instant and therefore we now have tactical control of the rules committee. The rules committee controls everything. Dan Bishop, Jim Jordan, Byron Donalds and Chip Roy were all put on as part of the deal. Also in the House overall, it only takes five votes to thwart anything the other side does and as you saw we had six that didn't vote for KM. They got the motion to vacate the chair reinstated with only one Rep requesting and that will enable immediate removal, through a vote, of McCarthy if he doesn't uphold his bargain.
