Truly. Enjoyed much of Twain’s works and insightful wit and sarcasm. Only to ponder now his participations in “the grove” and if so to what extent and intention?

His quotes ring so true! In hindsight, however, hearing that he was part of formation of the Bohemian Club, I wonder. Surely it wasn't what it became when he and others thought to promote American business or whatever the original purpose was.

He and Will Rogers just SLEW it as writers and pundits in (what we know as) the 19th century. In fact, Rogers died so young. Hm.
