You're darn right! And they dismantled it and re-built it someplace else!!! Even before glass panes were manufactured I believe, don't quote me on that, it's been awhile.

Yes, definitely. It was built before glass industry and mass manufacture started, and the glass for it was supposedly built by a small private glass shop. The biggest rabbit hole in this is it's designer, Joseph Paxton who also supposedly designed royal family's gardens and the great conservatory at Chatsworth, a masterful design made of glass with highly technological properties for cultivation of plants. When it was, for no logical reason, being demolished, the people who worked on it had extreme difficulties taking it down and i believe had to use explosives as well. Chetsworth palace and it's gardens are something from another time on their own.
