I am up in Canada. Yesterday, 2022-12-30, the male Cardinal who visits my backyard for peanuts (he comes when I do my best version of his call) was singing his mating song. UNHEARD OF!

Cardinals are almost virtually silent during the winter months - they don’t sing their mating song until they SENSE the change from Winter to Spring, which in Canada is normally the end of March, beginning of April!

This is my long way of saying that I agree. All signs are pointing to a VERY early Spring. 😀

Mine are back too here in C Tx.! The little family that lives here come to the window sill to check on me almost everyday! I go out on the back porch and we chirp to each other! 😂☺️😊
I know it sounds funny, but We enjoy it!! And it happened since 3 years ago, so 3 generations now! My Hubby is amazed!
