I have a hard time believing in a book that has been written by man and translated more times than should be reasonable for a "book of truth"

I know many things have already been proven in the bible (old testament) but yes, I'm with you, I think the probability of man changing and removing from the Bible is definitely worth looking into.

Noah's Ark was found where it said it was in the Bible. Mt. Ararat.
Measurements correlate perfectly with writings in The Bible. Look up "Ron Wyatt Noah's Ark".
Red Sea crossing found by Ron Wyatt. Even discovered an obelisk-type structure stating it being the crossing site.
Golgotha (the place of the skull), actually looks like a skull.

Maybe some things were left out because we shouldn't continually focus on the horrors of the past? Kind of like Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot's wife wasn't supposed to watch/look back. Lot's wife was turned into a salt pillar. There's a salt pillar at Sodom & Gomorrah (twin cities). They also found actual brimstone at this site which looks like an old melted city ruin.
