While I strongly disagree with any country that segregates and punishes adults who have same sex preferences, I also strongly believe that people must use some common sense. If a person is gay or has ties to the gay community through family members, when traveling internationally, they should lay aside specific items that incite confrontation. Why would you wear a shirt depicting the LBGTQ community in a country known for arresting people who are openly gay? That is asking for confrontation. Old saying that is oh so true - Pick your battles. Better even - pick the locale for your battles. Enemy territory is never the place to flaunt ideologies despised by your enemies. Better to wait until you are at least on neutral territory. In the best interest of my own personal peace I choose to avoid any clothing with advertising or symbols. There will always be someone who has a grievance and I prefer to avoid their anger.
