According to some indigenous cultures from different parts of the world, this is the Fifth Reset our domain has experienced. The last one was about 200 years ago and resulted in brick structures melted by some type of pulse weapon followed by a mud flood. Before that were resets that removed giant trees and lowered oxygen content, and the earliesy one switched the world fr silicon based to carbon based.
At one time huge quarries were dug that created the Grand Canyon and other similar land features. Many mountains are actually giant tree stumps.
Antarctica is said to have a network of intricate structures containing large rooms where unknown liquids and high tech designs are displayed and guarded by many booby traps that kill intruders instantly, similar to the ones guarding the gold statue in indiana jones.

I forgot the most important part. Our military WON this last reset!
