I grew up with the Words from the Scriptures: "The truth shall set you free!" Another thing our parents taught us was to "Search the Scriptures daily, to see whether those things were so." (Acts 17:11) and it is something we carried into our everyday lives!
My Dad did not want us to be gullible but taught us how to be wise! Mom would say observe and question! The made us researchers very early-- and we had to read a lot! including the newspapers, and then be able to discuss the world happenings with them at the dinner table!
I found Q at the first post. I prayed to ask about the veracity. In January 2018, I was all in.
