Pelosi as Speaker would be President just like she said would happen.
But the leftists still need to control the Speaker spot...

Leahy was next in line after Pelosi, maybe as speaker, maybe as President.

With Leahy out of the way, it is a great time to put a DS player in position.
That way they would maintain the Speaker spot to push their agenda forward.
Or they may plan to sacrifice Pelosi down the road, and install one of their DS power players as President in place of Leahy.

Altho, I don't think the game will play out long enough for their succession strategy to be completed.
