Ah, miss read the boxes - its early here...
I have seen folk talking about each piece of currency having a minute amount of gold embedded in it - to the value of the face of the currency.
I do not know enough about the financial field to know if this is viable.
Before banks, everyone carried their wealth about with them, or, hid it...
