Disease Management model instead of Health Creation

My mom keeps talking about introducing me to her friend's son. He's from Russia and went through the process of becoming a doctor over there. He recently moved here to Texas and decided not to do his residency because of this. I'm looking forward to meeting him and hearing what learning healthcare was like in Russia.

the medical industry is 100% fraud

As a former pharma rep, cardiovascular specialist, this is what big pharma does, even little pharma. Docs are PAID for all the meds they RX. They all have a quota, usually through the insurance plans they accept as well as the hospitals they round. They have to have a specific percentage of generic RX's in each class of drugs, as well as a percentage of branded drugs in each class. Docs decide what RX's will go into which category, then RX them. It makes me physically ill now knowing I was ever part of this sham, and that is what it is, a sham. There isn't a single doc I called on for decades that I would send my family to, and I called on thousands in 3 states.
