sometimes you will see these 'rarely' when a new version of the application has been pushed to the ASG's or cluster, means you cant access it because its updating ..
tho that usually only last for as long as it takes to distribute the new version to the web servers.
if it was 500 for more than an hour or so .. yeah something is up on their end (server side).
