If you do not meet these "industry standards" you written up and eventually...fired for low production. Many workers work "off the clock" to make those standards. I just received a class action lawsuit letter regarding one of these corporate machines I used to work for that kept pushing us monkeys to code more and more. I lasted 6 months and said hell no...not doing this. It was so bad that the company told us we could no longer "carve out" out reading of work emails. In other words, we are going to send you emails about policy changes and instructions, but you must read that on your own time. Yeah...I left pretty soon after that.
