I understand that Luke's testimony has been near a goto for accurate names and locations of ancient cities and towns thought not to exist used by archeologists that then went and found them.
I think it was the existence of the ancient Hittites that was questioned for a long time for lack of any other reference than the Bible that was indeed eventually established by archaeology.
