When you grow up there, it is insidious and you swallow the cult of celebrity and all it implies - not realizing what you're swallowing! You are literally and figuratively GROOMED to work in this industry and support the deviant mission and propaganda they create and distribute.

How about people who flock there for fame and fortune? Who would want to make a living as a full-time pretender within a vacuous cotton candy industry? Broken people flock to Hollywood, as opposed to creating worthwhile productive lives. Broken people beget more broken people.

Consider millions of people GROOMED in Southern California are not ONLY wannabee actors/actresses, but all the artists, editors, writers, production, hairdressers, back lot , etc. Everyone works 1-2 steps away from the industry. They are literally beholden for their very livelihoods and few can escape their "training."
