According to Victoria Coates — a national-security expert — recent U.S. strikes on cartel vessels linked to Cartel de los Soles in Venezuela could trigger “violent retaliation against U.S. citizens” on American soil. 

Coates warns that cartels, possibly connected to foreign governments, may try “terror activities” within the United States as payback for U.S. military action abroad.
