The highest probability, in my mind, is that Trump is still the president, and they are using masks and actors to catch everyone else.

It seem that the 2A guns were necessary, but not sufficient. You needed the Internet to make the 1A have teeth, and guns to ensure there was some room left for free speech and dissent.
