Storyline... (Feel free to add part of the story below...)

There had been stories about the frozen boats of Crystal River. They only showed up after the first snowfall that blanketed the land. No one knew from whence they came. Nor did anyone know why.

I was out stretching my legs, with a cold brisk walk towards the river when my eyes caught movement and a sparkle that I could not explain. I stepped out of the forest and towards the beautiful Ice boat before me, my eyes taking in my surroundings, as I looked for humanity. I was alone.

Did someone summon it? Was it here for me? Where would it take me? Do I dare to step into it?

My mind raced with questions and an almost confusion, with wanting explanations and reasons that were beyond my reach. Was there even time to think?

I reached for the bow of the ship, lifted one leg up and over the side. The boat was not frigid, how strange! I planted myself on the middle seat and just sat there for a moment. Now what?

The lake was as still as glass, the ice protruding from every point of the landscape, the trading boats engaged elsewhere, and the castle stood firm and resolute in the crisp Winter's air.

I was late. And what's more, is that the King would know I was as such as well. He was expecting me and the little package I held in confinement.

My eyes scanned the horizon, there were no dragon's today!

And the castle grounds came alive as I approached closer, children's laughter and excitement with play, villagers clinging to their every day tasks, horses clattering on the path and the wood wagon wheels thudding past, church bells ringing for the evening call to Christmas dinner, and even the faint sound of the Angel choir singing in the background.

It was good to be home, and even better with it being such a Special day.

Enough musings, as I reached again for the small package in my care.

The light snow softened my steps along the road. The gatehouse was unguarded, and there weren't any other footprints lining the road. I stepped into the cover of the gatehouse for a moment, and I pulled my cloak tightly around me.

No horses clanked on the white cobble road, no wagons, no soldiers, and no noise.

Silence.

Do I proceed? Do I meet up with my old friend and Captain of the guard? Was I walking into a trap?

My hands felt for my broadsword within my velvet cloak. It was there, neatly pressed against my length. I wasn't going in empty handed, but what was I walking into?

A gift to the Children (and grandchildren) of the world.
