It’s important to know the history about why some texts are cannon and some are not. decisions had to be made to codify texts as cannonical. 1. Dating the text or an inability to date the text, which leads to 2. Authorship. To prove authorship, dating is imperative. 3. Does the text include heresies? Things that everyone agrees contradicts the known nature of God and lastly. 4. The completeness of the text. If sufficient gaps exist, are they detrimental to the cohesion of the text? Keeping in mind that the Old Testament was already established by the Jews before the time of Jesus. So only the New Testament is in play. Writing styles and language are more easily proven and can be evaluated in that time frame. I personally don’t care who reads, what. To have an idea about what was done, one must first ask the question, why was it done that way?
