Thats a hell of a story. Don't think I've heard of it myself. Sounds a lot like what happened around here in nearby Phenix City. The original Sin City. Gambling, Prostitution, Dixie Mafia. Movie and songs about it. I hear Patton, stationed at Ft Benning, drove a tank over to retrieve some of his soldiers thrown in jail once and threatened to flatten it with his tanks if they kept it up.
