Seeing Britain in a decayed and bedraggled state upset me. But I also have great hope for the future and a cultural revival beyond compare.

I thought the same thing today as we drove around our city. So many areas have become derelict. What happened? Why did people stop caring about that little plot of earth they own and call home?
