The last line says it all. "Because Brondo has electrolytes". Large industries sell products and usually as a result end up with byproducts. The byproducts sometimes accumulate and become a liability. That is when you pay researchers to develop a marketing strategy to market the excess - ie. a new product. Then you pay marketers to come up with a narrative as to why that new product is good for you or the environment.
