Seemed odd to me that while todays outage on social media, followed by Verizon, AT&T, and others going down was all over the feeds... This story also hit and got ignored.

Apparently the hack at Syniverse started in 2016 but wasn't detected until May 2021. They're huge, but I'd never even heard of them before.
"Ninety-five of the top 100 mobile carriers in the world, including the big three U.S. ones, and major international ones such as Telefonica, and America Movil, are Syniverse customers, according to the filing."
So when the story says 200-235 clients were affected, realize they're likely talking about these big companies, not small users.

No idea of the significance, but I thought I'd pass it along. Easily one of the bigger hacks I've ever heard of. Would have expected more headlines.
