On Tuesday evening, local midwife Rebekah Knapp, perished in a horrific traffic accident. She was only 41 years old (my age!) and has delivered over 1,000 babies. She only charged what people could afford. Often, the poorer Amish families paid her in eggs and vegetables. She saved my ex-friend's life after Marie (110 pounds soaking wet) gave birth to a 10-pound baby boy! This fundraiser is to support the neighboring midwives who are forced to expand their territories to cover the area Rebekah so tragically left. Please help as you're able.
