This is the state of my son and some other kids hands from washing their hands at school. This is in the UK but is across the whole country not just one school or one area. What are they making our kids wash their hands with?

That's what hand sanitizer does to my hands. It strips the natural protective barrier off. Also, some of them can change your hormones or blood alcohol content.

I initially thought it was the sanitiser but it seems to be the foaming soap from the dispenser. My sons class has at least 3 kids who are having issues but there are possibly more. It looks so painful, it can't be comfortable. does it take long for your skin to settle down?

I also had this problem at work (and several others) when they changed the soap to antibacterial soap during the H1N1 pandemic.
