Civics was taught in Massachusetts in the early 1980's. How ironic, I learned it there, and now I am here.

All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation."

Why aren't we told about the "existing contracts and engagements?" What were those exactly? We swear an oath to uphold this document/contract, but we (the People) are NOT privvy to the full/hidden terms of the contract.

In 1976 as a sophmore in High School we were required to take American Political Behavior. However, I can recall little of what I learned. What you posted is true though, I agree!

Why do you think they stopped teaching cursive in school (screwel as Rush would say)? So students cannot read the Constitution - cursive should be required along with the prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the USA. Can't wait to see what the 1776 school curriculum will look like!!
