The US COAST GUARD Door Gunner/Sniper shoots out the boat engines to disable them, and does. Boat outboard engine blocks shattered.
BOAT DEAD IN THE WATER, no way to run, making it easier to capture cargo & crew intact when Narco-Terrorists submit and there are reasons to do so, such as for evidence gathering purposes.
If the Narco-Terrorists on the boat were returning fire to the Helicopter that would be handled differently, of course.
