The gate opens .... lets be objective ... smoking cigarettes and consuming alcohol while pregnant is accepted as harmful, its on the labels. So can we accept that drugs such as Tylenol might also be harmful in the context of pregnant and nursing mothers. The back-lash from the medical voices is not so much about if there is scientific studies that give credence, but that medical practitioners are being challenged for their willing collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. Lets not brand all medical professionals as overtly complicit when they have observed downsides to medications in patients they have prescribed, not that this absolves them, but the health system and medical training has been heavily influenced by big pharma. We all deserve genuine medical care and over prescribing oral medications, and the use of novel treatments warrants investigation, monitoring and reform when human travesty and tragedy emerge beyond acceptable trends and norms.
